I am a programmer with a like of scripting languages, but I am also trained in geology and have a love of classical music. Recently I have been interested in psychology and spiritual things, but not religion. I am much more than what I have done for a living. I have a family and am divorced, but I am deeply concerned for my four children.

Google is shooting itself in the foot!
This is the new editor for blogger.
I have to zoom the text in the browser to use it.
I think that Google has made a huge mistake in EOL Google Reader because IMHO the alternatives are not as well designed.
Feedly makes you do too much work to keep up with the feeds by making you mark the feed as read rather than doing something automatically when you scroll past the item. In fact this one feature makes feedly far less useful than Google Reader, and Google Reader was the ONE effective design of Google when all of the others suffer from bad designs in one way or another.
I am encountering one as I type. Zooming the text breaks controls of the editor viewport and so this is not an Accessable design. Google Docs has been a disaster for having non-standard and closed features that are surely designed to make its users a captive audience.
In my mind the decision about Google Reader was made to further enpire building and to defeat one of the few good and successful designs in a sea of manipulation beginning with Google's poor design of its web pages interface in 2007 and now with some serious gaps in Google Play.
For such a well capitalized company Google does a poor job of serving its users and deserved to be degunded.
